Ceceily: I study public management because I work in government, and I intend to stay in government. I came to SPEA because I was here in Indianapolis serving as an AmeriCorps VISTA and during my VISTA term, SPEA was everywhere.

[Words appear: Ceceily Brickley, Public Management Graduate Student]

Ceceily: SPEA was at most of the events that I was at, I met a lot of SPEA grads and then also faculty members in SPEA.

[Video: Ceceily walks down the aisle between stacks of book at University Library.]

Ceceily: The majority of my professional connections I've made through SPEA and a lot of that has to do with the fact that we are downtown Indianapolis and a lot of the organizations and companies and businesses that we work with are here at our disposal.

[Video: Ceceily studies at a table in the library.]

Ceceily: To me it was the most broad program that would really help me holistically to grow as a professional in government, but also gives me the flexibility if I ever decide to go outside of government to also be qualified in those positions.

[Video: Ceceily turns pages in a book.]

Ceceily: You're learning the inner functions and administrative roles, but you're also connecting that to service and your passions for community.

[Video: Cecily writes on a yellow legal notepad.]

Ceceily: It was good to be able to connect policy to real-world situations happening in Indianapolis, and not just read about policy theoretically, but actually talk about policy that's affecting our day-to-day lives, and how we can affect that policy.

[Video: Cecily reads through the pages of her Management book.]

Ceceily: Because of scholarship support, I am able to go through my graduate program without the financial worry or burden. I also feel that my community is really supporting me and looking forward to my future role as a professional here in Indianapolis.
