Costs and financial aid
By choosing SPEA at IUPUI, you will study at one of the highest-ranked but lowest-cost graduate programs in the U.S. We offer numerous scholarships, generous graduate assistantships and merit-based awards for out-of-state students. See our Graduate Scholarships page for details.
The cost for graduate school depends on the number of credit hours you take each semester. The tuition rate for the 2016-2017 academic year is $406.18 per credit hour for Indiana residents and $1,013.80 per credit hour for non-residents. In addition, some mandatory fees are charged based on the number of credit hours you take each semester. Midwest Student Exchange Program
SPEA IUPUI participates in the Midwest Student Exchange Program, providing a significantly reduced out-of-state tuition for students from select Midwest states. Residents of the following states (Illinois, Kansas, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, and Wisconsin) can attend SPEA IUPUI programs and save over $400 per credit hour. This program allows students to save $19,417 off the current non-resident tuition rate for the 48-credit-hour MPA program and $14,563 off the current non-resident tuition rate for the 36-credit-hour MSCJPS program. Please note this program is only available to students of the SPEA IUPUI program. To learn more about the program, visit IUPUI’s Graduate School information page.
Financial aid is available for degree-seeking graduate students taking at least 4 credit hours in a semester. Graduate non-degree students are ineligible for financial aid. View IUPUI financial aid information.
